Popular Dog Breeds: Maltipoo

About the Maltipoo

Each bolded word below is a reason for why the Maltipoo is a popular breed and each paragraph below goes into further detail on that reason.

The Maltipoo is a popular dog breed because it is hypoallergenic, easy to train, and just adorable.

Hypoallergenic

If a member in your family has allergies a maltipoo is a dog that doesn’t shed. This designer dog breed doesn’t shed because both the poodle and maltese are hypoallergenic. Maltipoos unlike most dogs don’t have fur. Maltipoos have hair which means that the hairs keep on growing and growing. If you go to an a allergist for hypoallergenic dog breeds they might recommend the maltipoo. Unfortunately no dog is 100% hypoallergenic because their dandruff will shed. IMG_7143.PNG.png

Easy to Train

Maltipoo are easy to train and very smart. Maltipoos get their intelligence from the poodle.

Which one to choose: Purebred or Mutts?

When it comes to choosing if you want a purebred dog or a mutt there are pros and cons on both sides.

PUREBRED

Huntress Female Manchester Terrier

Pros:

  • You know for sure what their breed is
  • You have a better chance of determining their size
  • You can know for sure if they are hypoallergenic or not

Cons:

  • Costs more money than mutts
  • You won’t have the fun of guessing their breed
  • If you don’t get a purebred from a shelter then you won’t be saving a dog’s life

If you want to pay less for a purebred dog then you might want to check out your local shelter. Did you know that 1/3 of dogs surrendered in shelters are purebreds?

Pros:

  • You can have fun guessing your dogs breed
  • You have saved a dog’s life if you adopted it
  • You have a mutt, the combination of many dog breeds, that is very unique

Cons:

  • You don’t know the dogs ancestry for sure
  • You probably don’t know the size your dog will be
  • You don’t know if you may end up being allergic to them or not

What are the qualities of a perfect animal photo?

❤️🐶🐱🐭🐹🐰🐻🐼🐨🐯🦁🐮🐷🐸🐙🐵🐔🐦🐤🐺🐴🐍🐢🐬🐡🐟🐠🐆🐐🐘🐳🐑🐿❤️

As you know we love animals. We take photos of them to share our love for them. That’s why The Tween Dogist Instagram was created. We take photos of your pet(s) for memories that will last forever. Each moment caught on camera is a permanent memory, but just a instant of that memory.

That’s the main reason why we take photos of our pets. That’s this blog post was created to show you the qualities of a perfect pet photo.

Photo Quality

Quality is what matters most while taking the photo.

Make sure you photo is not blurry. If it’s blurry because that’s how it focuses then that’s fine. I suggest using a professional camera if you want it to be the best quality possible.

The Pet’s Body Positioning

It definitely matters what the pet’s body position is. If the pet was turned around that probably wouldn’t be the best photo possible, because you can’t see it’s facial expression. Facial expressions are important in photos because they show how that pet feels in that instant. So, if the pet was facing you then you can see how the pet feels in that instant, are they excited, are they a bit scared.

Get Down to Your Pet’s Level

If you get down to your pets level you will probably have a better photo than if you are standing and taking a photo them.

For example

This is a picture of Isabella while I’m standing

And this is a photo of her when I’m at her level

See, when you are at the dog’s level you get a better photo with more detail. It also doesn’t look like you are looking down at your pet.

Know the qualities of a perfect photo? Now you can learn how to take the perfect photo of your pet (I used a dog as an example) by reading this post “How to take the best dog photos.”

Adopt Don’t Shop!

According to the Humane Society of the U.S.,

“Each year, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a pet.

The number of euthanized animals could be reduced dramatically if more people adopted pets instead of buying them. When you adopt, you save a loving animal by making them part of your family and open up shelter space for another animal who might desperately need it.”

That’s why I have created a list of 6 reasons why you should adopt instead of shop.

You may think that all of the dogs in shelters are mutts but according to the MSPCA 1/3 of dogs in shelters are purebred.

6 reasons to adopt a pet:

  • You saved a dogs life by adopting it
  • You raise awareness to shelters by adopting from one
  • Pets at shelters are usually a lower cost than pets in pet shops
  • You are fighting puppy mills
    • According to the Humane Society of the U.S.,”If you buy a dog from a pet store, online seller or flea market, you’re almost certainly getting a dog from a puppy mill.Puppy mills are factory-style breeding facilities that put profit above the welfare of dogs. Animals from puppy mills are housed in shockingly poor conditions with improper medical care, and are often very sick and behaviorally troubled as a result. The moms of these puppies are kept in cages to be bred over and over for years, without human companionship and with little hope of ever joining a family. And after they’re no longer profitable, breeding dogs are simply discarded—either killed, abandoned or sold at auction. These puppy mills continue to stay in business through deceptive tactics — their customers are unsuspecting consumers who shop in pet stores, over the Internet or through classified ads. Puppy mills will continue to operate until people stop supporting them. By adopting a pet, you can be certain you aren’t giving them a dime.”
  • You help an animal shelter open up a space for other homeless animals
    According to http://list25.com/25-reasons-to-adopt-and-not-shop/

“The role of animal shelters is to provide a shelter for homeless animals. This means that when you adopt an animal from one of these shelters, you help provide a home for that animal while at the same time opening up space for another homeless animal.”

  • A majority of “Pre-owned”dogs are already house trained
    • When you adopt a dog they are usually already house trained, which usually means no extra house training will be needed.

Oh Tiny Heart Pet Accessories ❤️

All photos below are taken by Oh Tiny Heart:

Oh Tiny Heart (OTH) is an online dog store where you can buy your pup a cute and stylish scarf. They also sell leashes and collars.

The Scarves

Photos by Oh Tiny Heart

OTH scarves come in all different colors and patterns. The designs are very unique.

I ordered a blue one called the ROBIN (yes I know I don’t have a dog yet, but still it was too cute and pretty not to purchase.)

The price for one scarf is between 19 to 48 dollars depending on which one you choose. There is free shipping in the US for orders over $150. Through it is a bit pricey the scarves are high quality, limited, and take time to make even through they are sewn with a machine. The handmade fringe ones are usually more money because that takes even more time.

The Collars and Leashes

Photos by Oh Tiny Heart

Oh Tiny Heart teamed up with Mattie + Margot and they now have collars and leashes available!

They currently have three different colors available: “Jade, Plum, and Sand”

Collars are $42, and leashes are $58.

All of there products are high quality, and beautiful.

How to take the best dog photos

This is my first post on @thetweendogist blog!

How to take the best dog photos/How I take photos on my @thetweendogist instagram account

🐾The best dog photos when taken need patience.

🐩 Step 1: Have some thing the dog wants for instance a squeaky toy or treat.

🐶 Step 2: Move this object around your camera’s lens. This way  the dog will be looking the lens. Tip: If the dog is a bit jumpy at first wait for it to calm down and then take a/the photo when they are calm. I guarantee that photo will come out great.

🐕 Step 3: Well… There is no step three. It’s as easy as that all you need is patience, and a camera.

Here are some of my favorite dog photos: They are among the many photos I have taken.IMG_5324.JPG
