40 Things Your Pet Shouldn’t Get Their Paws On

We want your pet(s) to be as safe as possible! That’s why we create this blog post, to let you know that the following items, wether it’s food, cleaning products, or plants, can be dangerous to your pet. Even some foods that fine for us to eat can hurt your pets tummies. That’s why we disapprove of feeding your pet(s) table scraps. Not only does feeding your pet table scraps enforce negative behavior such as begging, but like we said before it can make your pet(s) tummies hurt.

It’s National Puppy Day!

Today March 23rd is National Puppy Day!

According to Dogtipper.com, National Puppy day was founded in 2006 by Colleen Paige.

What are the qualities of a perfect animal photo?

❤️🐶🐱🐭🐹🐰🐻🐼🐨🐯🦁🐮🐷🐸🐙🐵🐔🐦🐤🐺🐴🐍🐢🐬🐡🐟🐠🐆🐐🐘🐳🐑🐿❤️

As you know we love animals. We take photos of them to share our love for them. That’s why The Tween Dogist Instagram was created. We take photos of your pet(s) for memories that will last forever. Each moment caught on camera is a permanent memory, but just a instant of that memory.

That’s the main reason why we take photos of our pets. That’s this blog post was created to show you the qualities of a perfect pet photo.

Photo Quality

Quality is what matters most while taking the photo.

Make sure you photo is not blurry. If it’s blurry because that’s how it focuses then that’s fine. I suggest using a professional camera if you want it to be the best quality possible.

The Pet’s Body Positioning

It definitely matters what the pet’s body position is. If the pet was turned around that probably wouldn’t be the best photo possible, because you can’t see it’s facial expression. Facial expressions are important in photos because they show how that pet feels in that instant. So, if the pet was facing you then you can see how the pet feels in that instant, are they excited, are they a bit scared.

Get Down to Your Pet’s Level

If you get down to your pets level you will probably have a better photo than if you are standing and taking a photo them.

For example

This is a picture of Isabella while I’m standing

And this is a photo of her when I’m at her level

See, when you are at the dog’s level you get a better photo with more detail. It also doesn’t look like you are looking down at your pet.

Know the qualities of a perfect photo? Now you can learn how to take the perfect photo of your pet (I used a dog as an example) by reading this post “How to take the best dog photos.”

My dog drawings

My dog drawings

I have done many dog drawings. Most of them I usually do with crayon.

Here are some of my dog drawings:

How I draw dogs:

Step 1. I search up a picture of the dog I want to draw. I usually draw dogs I’ve taken photos of for my instagram. The photo below is one that I’ve taken.

Step 2. I first draw the dog with pencil

Photography: Camera VS iPhone 6s

📸 Camera:

✅Pros

  • Great quality
  • Professional
  • Usually has more photo storage than an iPhone

❎Cons

  • Sometimes the photos get blurry when they are uploaded onto instagram
  • It is harder to hold a squeaky ball in one hand and a large camera in the other

Dog photos I’ve taken with a Nikon camera:

Phone:

✅Pros:

  • Great quality
  • More convenient weight wise

❎Cons:

  • Not professional
  • Photos take up way to much storage on the iPhone

Photos I’ve taken with my iPhone 6s

I think personally it is easier for me to use my iPhone because I have it all the time with me and it is much lighter than a camera.

Why I think non filtered photos are better

I like my photos to be natural. On my 3 Instagram accounts thetweendogistelittlelou, and Maltipoo_of_Manhattan I have only used filters or edited my photos a few times.

Why?

Because I like to work off of natural light. Photos that are taken with a natural essence cannot really keep that natural feeling if filters are included.

I don’t think that we need to use filters in our photos to make them look good.

A natural photo with no filters to me would seem a bit more professional than one with filter(s). This is because a photographers best friend is natural light.

It may be necessary to brighten the photo if it is too dark. I once used a an editor to edit Bentley the standard poodle’s photo because at the angle that I took the photo there wasn’t enough light.

I only use filters about 3 times on my private account, twice on my thetweendogist, and I haven’t created any posts yet on the last account.

That’s I try to stray away from filters and editing apps.
